We are looking for a skilled Workflow Automation & Integration Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technically capable automation specialist who can build reliable workflows, connect business systems, integrate AI tools, and create smooth end-to-end automation solutions for SMB and enterprise clients.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with automation platforms, APIs, webhooks, CRM integrations, SaaS tools, databases, and business process automation.


Position Overview

The Workflow Automation & Integration Engineer will be responsible for building the workflow and integration layer behind Konvergense’s AI automation solutions.

You will connect AI agents, chatbots, websites, forms, CRMs, ERPs, email systems, WhatsApp, spreadsheets, databases, helpdesk platforms, and other business tools into reliable automated workflows.

This role is critical because most AI automation projects succeed only when the AI system is properly connected to the client’s real business operations. You will help ensure that AI solutions do not remain isolated tools, but become part of the client’s daily workflow.


Key Responsibilities

Workflow Automation Development

  • Design, build, test, and maintain business automation workflows using tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
  • Create trigger-based workflows for lead capture, customer support, sales follow-up, appointment booking, internal approvals, reporting, notifications, and task management.
  • Build human-in-the-loop workflows where approvals, escalations, or manual reviews are required.
  • Develop error handling, retry logic, fallback flows, alerts, and monitoring mechanisms to improve workflow reliability.
  • Optimize workflows for speed, accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.

System Integration

  • Integrate AI agents and automation systems with client platforms such as websites, CRMs, ERPs, email, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, helpdesk tools, payment platforms, e-commerce systems, and databases.
  • Work with APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, JSON payloads, data mapping, and middleware.
  • Connect platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, WhatsApp Business API, Freshdesk, Zendesk, Calendly, Google Sheets, Airtable, and similar systems.
  • Create custom connectors or API-based integrations when standard automation tools are not sufficient.
  • Ensure data moves accurately and securely between systems.

AI Automation Support

  • Work with AI / LLM Engineers to connect AI agents with tools, databases, external services, and client workflows.
  • Build workflows that allow AI systems to retrieve information, create records, update CRMs, send emails, trigger notifications, book appointments, generate reports, and escalate issues.
  • Support AI-powered customer service, sales automation, marketing automation, HR automation, finance workflows, and operational process automation.
  • Help implement approval flows, exception handling, and business rules around AI-generated actions.

Testing, Troubleshooting & Maintenance

  • Test automation workflows across multiple scenarios and edge cases.
  • Troubleshoot API errors, authentication issues, data mismatch, broken triggers, failed workflows, and platform limitations.
  • Monitor live automations and resolve issues quickly.
  • Maintain clear workflow documentation, integration maps, and technical notes.
  • Support post-launch optimization and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with AI consultants, solutions architects, AI developers, data specialists, designers, project managers, and client stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into automation flows and integration logic.
  • Prepare workflow diagrams, technical documentation, handover notes, and internal SOPs.
  • Support client training and explain automation workflows in a clear and practical manner.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered for candidates with strong hands-on automation and integration experience.
  • Relevant certifications in automation platforms, cloud systems, CRM platforms, or integration tools are an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in workflow automation, systems integration, business process automation, SaaS implementation, CRM implementation, or backend/API development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
  • Experience integrating CRMs, websites, forms, databases, email systems, WhatsApp, e-commerce platforms, helpdesk platforms, or ERP systems.
  • Experience working with SMBs, agencies, consulting firms, SaaS providers, or enterprise technology environments is preferred.
  • UAE/GCC client experience is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of workflow automation logic, triggers, actions, conditions, loops, filters, and branching.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, and third-party integrations.
  • Ability to work with databases, spreadsheets, forms, CRMs, and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across different platforms.
  • Basic scripting or development knowledge using JavaScript, Python, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of data mapping, validation, transformation, and synchronization.

Preferred Technical Exposure

  • CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • WhatsApp Business API, Twilio, Meta Business tools, or similar messaging platforms.
  • WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Webflow, or other website/e-commerce platforms.
  • Helpdesk platforms such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, or similar tools.
  • Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Airtable, Notion, Monday.com, ClickUp, Trello, or Asana.
  • SQL databases, Supabase, Firebase, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar systems.
  • AI tools and LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms.

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and systems thinking ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand business processes and convert them into automation workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and patience in resolving complex integration issues.
  • Ability to document workflows clearly.
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical processes to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and client projects at the same time.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, APIs, and automation platforms.
  • Fluency in English is required. Arabic communication skills are an advantage.
  • UAE/GCC market experience is preferred.

Additional Preferences

The following will be considered a strong advantage:

  • Experience building AI-connected automation workflows.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems or regulated industries.
  • Experience designing workflow architecture for customer service, sales, marketing, HR, finance, or operations.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, access permissions, and security requirements.
  • Ability to create workflow diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Experience with both no-code/low-code and custom-coded automation approaches.

Location

UAE / GCC region preferred.

Candidates based in the UAE will be given preference. Remote or hybrid working arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates with strong automation and integration experience.
