We are looking for a talented AI / LLM Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technically strong developer who can build AI agents, intelligent chatbots, virtual assistants, internal copilots, RAG-based knowledge systems, and AI-powered workflow applications for SMB and enterprise clients.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with Large Language Models, AI APIs, prompt engineering, vector databases, backend development, and practical business automation use cases.
Position Overview
The AI / LLM Engineer will be responsible for developing the core AI logic behind Konvergense’s automation solutions. You will work closely with AI consultants, automation engineers, data specialists, project managers, and client stakeholders to build reliable, scalable, and business-ready AI systems.
You will help design and develop AI agents that can answer customer queries, qualify leads, automate internal workflows, search knowledge bases, assist employees, support sales teams, improve customer service, and connect intelligently with business tools and platforms.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can move beyond basic prompts and build structured, tested, and production-ready AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
AI Agent & LLM Development
- Build AI agents, chatbots, virtual assistants, copilots, and task-based automation systems using modern Large Language Models.
- Develop AI workflows using APIs from platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, or similar providers.
- Create structured prompt systems, system instructions, tool-calling flows, decision trees, routing logic, and conversation flows.
- Build AI solutions that can interact with business systems, knowledge bases, CRMs, websites, email, WhatsApp, databases, and internal tools.
- Develop AI features that support lead qualification, customer support, appointment booking, document search, internal productivity, sales assistance, and content automation.
RAG & Knowledge-Based AI Systems
- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems using company documents, websites, FAQs, policies, manuals, product information, and structured business knowledge.
- Work with vector databases, embeddings, document ingestion, chunking, metadata, search relevance, and retrieval optimization.
- Improve AI response accuracy by designing better knowledge retrieval flows and grounding mechanisms.
- Test AI responses against business knowledge, client documents, and real-world user scenarios.
Backend & API Development
- Develop backend services, API endpoints, middleware, and integrations required for AI automation solutions.
- Connect AI systems with third-party platforms through APIs, webhooks, databases, and SaaS tools.
- Support integration with platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, WhatsApp Business API, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, helpdesk systems, and custom databases.
- Build secure and maintainable code that can be tested, deployed, monitored, and improved over time.
Quality, Testing & Optimization
- Test AI systems for accuracy, hallucination risk, reliability, edge cases, escalation handling, and user experience.
- Improve prompt quality, retrieval performance, response consistency, and workflow reliability.
- Implement guardrails, fallback logic, human handoff flows, approval mechanisms, and error handling.
- Monitor AI performance and support ongoing optimization after deployment.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with AI Automation Consultants and Solutions Architects to convert business requirements into technical implementation plans.
- Collaborate with workflow automation engineers, data engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Document AI logic, prompts, API flows, system architecture, deployment steps, and technical decisions.
- Support internal knowledge sharing and contribute to reusable AI components, templates, and frameworks.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered for candidates with strong practical AI development experience.
- Relevant AI, cloud, software engineering, or data science certifications are an advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, backend development, AI engineering, machine learning engineering, or automation development.
- Hands-on experience building applications using LLM APIs or AI platforms.
- Experience with RAG systems, AI agents, chatbots, virtual assistants, or conversational AI is strongly preferred.
- Experience working on client-facing, SaaS, agency, consulting, or enterprise technology projects will be an advantage.
- Experience with UAE/GCC clients, bilingual AI systems, Arabic language workflows, or enterprise implementation environments is preferred but not mandatory.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Required Technical Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms.
- Good understanding of prompt engineering, AI agents, tool-calling, function calling, and conversational AI design.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, backend services, and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with vector databases and embedding-based search.
- Ability to work with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of authentication, access control, API security, and secure data handling.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Preferred Technical Exposure
- LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or similar AI development frameworks.
- Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma, FAISS, Supabase, PostgreSQL, or similar data/vector storage tools.
- FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, Express, Next.js, or similar backend frameworks.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar environments.
- Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and deployment workflows.
- WhatsApp Business API, CRM APIs, ERP systems, helpdesk platforms, and marketing automation tools.
- Arabic NLP, multilingual AI systems, or GCC-specific business use cases.

- Fluency in English is required. Arabic language capability is an advantage.
- UAE/GCC market experience is preferred.

Location
UAE / GCC region preferred.
Candidates based in the UAE will be given preference. Remote or hybrid working arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates with strong technical experience and proven AI project delivery capability.
